The ISGH Girls, basketball season, is now open to Masjid teams around the Houston Area. Here’s why your team needs to be here:
- Skill levels offered (Ages 13-18 and 19-25).
- Play in tournaments to represent your Masjid (girls basketball teams are not required to participate, but it is strongly recommended).
The Girls Basketball teams strive to operate with all female staff and referees. Our girls uniforms specifications are meant to ensure comfort and modesty.
Girls Dress Code
Girls Uniforms during sporting events:
- 2 Piece Hijab-Two piece hijabs are recommended so girls are not at risk of having the long flowy scarf inadvertently pulled during play or worrying about if it will stay put or not. Girls must wear hijab even if they are not a hijabi.
- Jersey – The uniform should not be tucked in and should come to about mid thigh to cover the girls shape.
- Long sleeve – A dri-fit long sleeve shirt should be worn under the jersey to offer more protection and breathability for the health and safety of the girls.
- Sweatpants – Loose fit sweatpants or Abaya skirt should be worn. They should be loose enough not to hinder the movement of the girl.
- Athletic Shoe – Girls should wear athletic (basketball) shoes to protect the feet and ankles. The shoes should offer grip and protection while on court.
- Jewelry – No jewelry (Earrings, rings, bracelets) should be worn during girls sporting events. Fingernails should also be short enough to not cause injury.
